Retreat to the Woods

I spent some much-needed time in the woods this week. I felt like I needed recalibrating. (From what, I don’t really know.)⁣

All I know is I’ve been feeling tense, and wandering amongst the trees seems to calm me.

Listening to the leaves rustle and the crickets chirp and the acorns hitting the forest floor.⁣

There aren’t many places to truly get away in my little city—oh how I wish there were more—but I’m so thankful for the green spaces that do exist. We need more of them, these places that release the tension. ⁣

Reminders from the woods: Breathe. Be wild and brave like the tree limbs. Notice the light. There’s always light.
